Swing Trading Stocks with Confluence – Catch BIG Moves on AAPL!

Learn Swing Trading with Confluence

Today, we’re covering swing trading stocks with confluence, a strategy that helps traders identify, confirm, and manage high-probability trades on TradingView.

Using Apple (AAPL) as an example, we’ll explore how harmonic patterns, the xBrat Algo, the Bias Depth Heatmap, and the xBrat Manager combine for stronger trades.

How This Trade Worked

This trade on TradingView relied on a combination of technical indicators to increase confidence in entry and exit points.

  • Harmonic patterns signaled a potential reversal.
  • The xBrat Algo confirmed the trade with star-rated buy signals.
  • The Bias Depth Heatmap ensured alignment with the larger trend.
  • The xBrat Manager guided trade management and exit timing.

Spotting Reversals with Harmonic Patterns 🔄

Harmonic patterns are a reliable tool for predicting potential trend reversals. In this trade, a Butterfly pattern (red) formed but failed to complete in the completion zone, meaning a short trade was not ideal. Shortly after, a Crab pattern (green) completed successfully in the automated completion zone, signaling a strong move upwards.

While harmonic patterns provide great insight, they should not be used alone. The next step was to confirm the trade with the xBrat Algo.

Confirming Entry with the xBrat Algo 🎯

The xBrat Algo on TradingView provided confirmation through star-rated buy signals.

  • 4-Star Buy Signal – Early entry option.
  • 5-Star Buy Signal – Stronger confirmation.
  • 6-Star Buy Signal – High-probability trade setup.

Bias Depth Heatmap: Confirming the Trend 📈

To ensure we weren’t trading against the broader market trend, we checked the Bias Depth Heatmap.

  • First entry: 4/6 timeframes turned green, suggesting a potential reversal.
  • Second entry: 6/6 timeframes turned green, confirming strong upward momentum.

Managing Trades and Exiting at the Right Time 💰

Handling Pullbacks

During the trade, small pullbacks occurred. The xBrat Manager helped determine whether these were minor retracements or potential trend reversals. The xBrat Manager’s volume dots indicated low volume during these pullbacks, suggesting they were merely profit-taking moments rather than signals of a major reversal. Additionally, the ribbon stayed green, reinforcing that the overall uptrend remained intact.

When to Exit

As price moved higher, we closely monitored volume to detect any signs of reversal. A high-volume down candle appeared, signaling large-scale profit-taking. This occurred just before earnings, which often leads to increased market uncertainty.

Recognizing this as a pre-earnings sell-off signal, we exited the trade, securing a 40% gain from January to August 2023.
