Forex traders often overlook the power of volume-based indicators, but the VWAP Predator on TradingView offers a game-changing approach to identifying high-probability trades. While I primarily trade futures, I wanted to highlight how effective this tool can be for forex traders, particularly when paired with the unique UniRenko ATR21 chart type on TradingView.
Why Volume Matters in Forex
One crucial aspect of using the VWAP Predator is ensuring your forex broker provides volume data. Volume is 50% of the trading equation, and without it, the VWAP Predator won’t function effectively. If your broker’s feed lacks volume, it’s time to switch to one that does.
Analyzing Two Days of Trades
Thursday’s Trade:
- Setup: A short signal appeared at 3 AM (European time) and another confirmation at 10:30 AM.
- Entry: A stop market order was placed just below the lows of the first signal, with a stop loss above the recent highs.
- Execution: A significant move occurred during US data time (8 AM EST), triggering the order and leading to a rapid decline.
- Exit: The trade lasted about 39 minutes, with the price declining steadily until a reversal signal appeared.
Friday’s Trades:
- Morning Trade: A buy signal emerged at 7:06 AM, with all six timeframes confirming a long entry. The trade moved upwards through the morning and early afternoon before flattening out.
- Evening Trade: A second buy signal aligned with VWAP support, offering another entry. As the price breached the high of the day, an additional position was added, riding the trend into the session close.
Key Takeaways
